In 2009, Jumbie Records began collaboration with another world-class orchestra. In October, the Bernard Woma Ensemble gave four performances of the Gyil Jumbie Concerto with the Minnesota Orchestra as part of their "Percussion Spectacular" Young People's Concerts. Performances of this genre-bending composition by Jumbie Partners David Rogers and Bernard Woma have been met with great excitement. Jim Bartsch, Director of Education for the Minnesota Orchestra wrote, "Mr. Woma's presentations at the concert as well as in schools were met with incredible enthusiasm from everyone."
Jumbie Records Artist Management has also continued to collaborate with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, providing captivating performances for the Orchestra's educational concert series by the Southpaw Isle Steelband, Imaginary Homeland, Musica Mundi, and the Biakuye Percussion Group in 2009. In addition, Jumbie Partner Mark Stone organized Detroit's "Forum on Community, Culture, and Race" this past summer at Orchestra Hall as part of the annual Concert of Colors.
